			Studies Íslendingadrápa by Haukr Valdísarson in relation to determing when it was composed, when related stories were first being told, when Family Sagas were written down and when their verse components were composed. Concludes that the drápa predates the Family Sagas. Cites Egill as one of the heroes mentioned in the drápa and shows that certain events known to the author of Egils saga were also known to Haukr.

			Rannsókn á Íslendingadrápu Hauks Valdísarsonar sem miðar að því að upplýsa hvenær hún var samin, hvenær sögur tengdar drápunni voru fyrst sagðar, hvenær Íslendingasögurnar voru ritaðar og hvenær dróttkvæðin sem fylgja þeim voru samin. Jónas kemst að þeirri niðurstöðu að drápan sé eldri en Íslendingasögurnar. Hann bendir á að Egill sé meðal þeirra hetja sem nefndar eru í drápunni og sýnir fram á að vissir atburðir sem höfundur Egils sögu vinnur úr voru Hauki einnig kunnir.
