	A study of the Viking Age, in particular its image in Egils ~~sags~~, from a Marxist point of view. Lebedev concentrates on the first 27 chapters of ~~Egils saga~~, which, according to him, could also be called „The saga of Thorolf Kveldulfsson“. There he finds various important evidence of both social and economic structure of Scandinavian society in the times of Kveldulf and his descendants. Lebedev sees Thorolf first as an active participant in the changing of ~~social reality~~ (from tribal to feudal system) and then as a reactionist, a part of the historical past opposing the king and the new regime.
