The mother of Flosi was Ingunna, daughter of Thorir of Espihole, the son of Hamond Hellskin, the son of Hjor, the son of Half, who ruled over the men of Half, the son of Hjorfeif, the lover of women. The mother of Thorir was Ingunna, daughter of Helgi the Lean, who took the land round Eyjafirth, as the first settler. Flosi had to wife Steinvora, daughter of Hall of the Side. She was base born, and her mother's name was Solvora, daughter of Herjolf the White.

			Flosi dwelt at Swinefell, and was a mighty chief. He was tall of stature, and strong, withal, the most forward and boldest of men.

She was the grimmest and hardest- hearted of all women; but still a woman of open hand and heart when any fitting call was made upon her. Maður er nefndur Flosi. Hann var sonur Þórðar Freysgoða, Össurarsonar, Ásbjarnarsonar, Heyjangurs-Bjarnarsonar, Helgasonar, Bjarnarsonar bunu. Móðir Flosa var Ingunn dóttir Þóris á Espihóli, Hámundarsonar heljarskinns, Hjörssonar, Hálfssonar þess er réð fyrir Hálfsrekkum, Hjörleifssonar hins kvensama. Móðir Þóris var Ingunn dóttir Helga magra er nam Eyjafjörð. Flosi átti Steinvöru dóttur Halls á Síðu. Hún var laungetin og hét Sölvör móðir hennar, dóttir Herjólfs hvíta.

Flosi bjó að Svínafelli og var höfðingi mikill. Hann var mikill vexti og styrkur, manna kappsamastur.

Bróðir hans hét Starkaður. Hann var eigi sammæður við Flosa. Móðir Starkaðar var Þraslaug dóttir Þorsteins tittlings Geirleifssonar en móðir Þraslaugar var Unnur; hún var dóttir Eyvindar karpa landnámamanns og systir Móðólfs hins spaka. Bræður Flosa voru þeir Þorgeir og Steinn, Kolbeinn og Egill.

Hildigunnur hét dóttir Starkaðar bróður Flosa. Hún var skörungur mikill og kvenna fríðust sýnum. Hún var svo hög að fár konur voru jafn hagar. Hún var allra kvenna grimmust og skaphörðust og drengur góður þar sem vel skyldi vera.
