			On Eiríksmál (‘Lay of Eirik’) in Fagrskinna and the identity of the nameless five kings it mentions. “Five young kings” are said to have perished in the Battle of Brunanburh; Seeberg argues that King Eirik may have faught in Brunanburh (on the English side) and that these kings are possibly the same as mentioned in Eiríksmál. Poetry embedded in Egils saga can be used as an (admittedly flimsy) positive corroboration for Eirik’s presence at Brunanburh. However, the actual presence of five vanquished kings at Brunanburh seems unlikely; they may have a Biblical rather than historical derivation.

			Í greininni fjallar Seeberg um Eiríksmál í Fagurskinnu, einkum þá fimm nafnlausu konunga sem þar eru nefndir. Sagt er að fimm ungir kóngar hafi horfið í orrustunni á Vínheiði; Seeberg færir rök fyrir því að Eiríkur konungur kunni að hafa tekið þátt í orrustunni (barist með Englendingum) og að þessir konungar séu þeir sömu og nefndir eru í Eiríksmálum. Þannig megi nota kveðskap í Eglu til að staðfesta að Eiríkur hafi verið viðstaddur þegar orrustan fór fram. Hins vegar telur Seeberg ólíklegt að fimm konungar hafi horfið við þetta tækifæri; líklegra sé að þetta sé biblíuvísun en söguleg staðreynd.
