This article is a diplomatic edition of the Egils saga fragment AM 162 A γ fol, which has not previously been published in its entirety though it was utilised in the variant apparatus to Finnur Jónsson's edition of the saga from 1886-88. The fragment is in a rather poor state of preservation, but thanks to ultraviolet photographs it is possible to read most of it. The introduction focuses on the question of dating. Facsimiles of all four pages of the fragment are also provided. In ONP the fragment is dated to 1275-1300, but here it is argued that a dating to c. 1325 is more likely, judging from the palaeographic and orthographic features of the fragment. This dating agrees with that proposed in Finnur Jónsson's edition.
