The focus of the article is on the relationship between the two brothers, Egill and Thorolf. In particular, Ármann analyses the behaviour of Thorolf when he comes back home to Borg after his first trip to Norway. Ármann claims that earlier scholars have neglected Thorolf and seen him too much as an extension of his nephew Thorolf, partially because they have resemble each other. But while the older Thorolf is ambitious and arrogant, the younger Thorolf repeatedly makes sacrifices to take care of his brother Egill.
