Annotation

An attempt to claim that the 12th century old Russian poem The Tale of Igor's Campaign (Slovo o polku Igoreve) was partly influenced by Egil’s Skallagrimson’s skaldic verses. Using his own readings of The Tale as a base, author finds there some parallels and references to Egil’s poems such as Head's Ransom (Höfuðlausn), The Loss of a Son (Sonatorrek) and Arinbjarnarkviða; parallels to eddic poetry are also provided.
