Annotation

This contribution provides quasi-diplomatic critical editions of fragments β and ι in AM 162 A fol. (Reykjavík). Both sources contain passsages from the B-redaction of Egils saga that have disappeared in lacunae in the Wolfenbüttel codex, which though defective is by far the fullest extant medieval representative of B. The older of the two fragments is 162 β, written in the middle of the fourteenth century by the same scribe as produced Codex Wormanius of Snorra Edda; 162 ι is later, presumably from the fifteenth century; though it displays some orthographic archaisms, these may have been taken over from an older exemplar.
