Annotation

Discussion of work by the author and other contemporary scholars on filling in lacunae in Sagas of Icelanders. Arinbjarnarkviða (Arinbjarnardrápa) is explored (in part V) in this context as the poem has been preserved only in AM 132 fol. (Möðruvallabók), with the last 20 lines being partially unreadable. Guðmundur asserts that these are likely 7 verses dealing with Arinbjorn’s (bravery in warfare), estimating that the original poem was around 40-50 verses long.
