==Annotation==
This article is a diplomatic edition of the ''Egils saga'' fragment AM 162 A ζ fol, which was formerly published as ''Tillæg I'' in Finnur Jónsson’s edition of the saga. The transcription by Finnur Jónsson is, however, very inaccurate due to the poor condition of the fragment. Kjeldsen has benefited greatly from ultraviolet photographs which have made it possible to read passages that Finnur Jónsson either read incorrectly or did not read at all. The introduction focuses on the question of dating. Facsimiles of the entire fragment (four leaves) are also provided. 
	In ONP the fragment is dated to the second half of the thirteenth century, but previous students have been very much in doubt about whether it should be dated to the middle or towards the end of the century. After having examined the palaeographic and orthographic evidence, Kjeldsen finds that a dating of the fragment to the last quarter of the century is the most likely. The use of certain archaic graphs (the straight ⟨d⟩ and the Carolingian ⟨f⟩) could be the result of the scribe being used to writing in Latin. Furthermore, one orthographic feature – the use of ⟨rb⟩ for /rf/ in some instances – could indicate that the scribe originated from the western part of Northern Iceland or the northern part or Western Iceland.

Greinin er stafrétt útgáfa á ''Eglu''-brotinu AM 162 A ζ fol, sem áður birtist sem ''Tillæg I'' í útgáfu Finns Jónssonar á af Egils sögu. Afrit Finns er samt sem áður mjög ónákvæmt vegna hrörlegs ástands handritsins. Kjeldsen hefur notið gagns af útfjólublárri ljósmyndatækni sem hefur gert honum kleift að lesa kafla í handritinu sem Finnur annað hvort las vitlaust eða sleppti. Í innganginum er sjónum beint að aldursgreiningu brotsins, auk þess að ljósprentun af brotinu sjálfu (fjögur blöð) fylgir með.
	Í ONP er talið að handritið sé frá ofanverðri 13. öld en fyrri nemendur efast um hvort eigi að tímasetja handritið um miðja öldina eða nær aldamótunum 1400. Eftir að hafa rannsakað bæði stafagerð og stafsetningu handritsins, kemst Kjeldsen að þeirri niðurstöðu að handritið sé að öllum líkindum frá síðasta fjórðungi 13. aldar. Notkun á úreltum orðmyndum (eins og hið beina ⟨d⟩ eða ⟨f⟩ frá tímum Karlunga) gætu verið vegna þess að skrifarinn var vanur að skrifa á Latínu. Enn fremur kemur fram í stafsetningu handritsins að ⟨rb⟩ er sums staðar notað í stað /rf/. Sú notkun gefur til kynna að skrifarinn hafi annað hvort verið frá vestari hluta norðurlands eða frá nyrðri hluta vesturlands á Íslandi.
