Toponymy and travels abroad in Sagas of Icelanders and their realistic and historical value in mapping cross-cultural contacts and patterns of connection and communication. Reference is made to a number of voyages and place names in Egils saga; other sources include Njáls saga, Gunnlaugs saga ormstungu, Laxdæla saga, and Eyrbyggja saga.
