Saga Conference preprint on the literary and contextual significance of Höfuðlausn that argues that it is “no less complex than Egill’s other major poems“ (377). Textual criticism of the poem, discussion of its form and an interpretation of the context in which it was composed, with focus on kenningar and Egil’s relationship with Óðinn.

Umfjöllun um bókmenntalega merkingu Höfuðlausnar og tengsl hennar við texta sögunnar. Höfundar halda því fram að kvæðið sé ekki síður flókið en önnur meginkvæði Egils. Fjallað er um rannsóknarsögu kvæðisins, form þess og frásögn sögunnar af sköpun þess, auk þess sem athygli er beint að kenningum Egils og sambandi hans við Óðinn.
